Celestial Mushroom

I decided to step away from social media awhile to focus more on achieving my personal goals.  It has not been an easy journey and will be an ongoing battle for many days in the future.  But at least I'm starting to tackle the process--one day at a time.

Here's some photos of my Celestial Mushroom from the May Wizarding Artist Society. It started out as a regular ink pen sketch on Bristol board. Stars and moons were added with pearlescent medium. Several different types of purple watercolor were used on the cap of the mushroom. It was really hard to get colors transparent so the moon and start peeked through. I also used several types of pearlescent watercolors around the stem under the cap. It's really hard to get good photographs that capture the subtle shimmer of the watercolors. Stay tuned for a youtube flip through of the May pages.

Here's a link to my short youtube process video:

Artwork featured on Designer Facemasks.

In lieu of the need to wear face masks as part of our daily attire, I am offering some of artwork used as designs for custom face masks. This is a great way to have unique face masks while supporting an artist. There are currently 25 different designs. I will be adding more in the future, so be sure to check back often. Much Love.

Art Journal pages

This week, I've worked on a couple of art journal projects.

This piece was a mixed media collage in a junk journal made from brown packing paper.  It's a double page spread.  I really love the way the pearlescent medium makes the moon glow.  I added some rhinestones for stars, but these are very hard to capture well on camera.

Fractured Heart is a mixed media piece using markers and colored pencils.  The colored pencils are from Castle arts and blend really well.  It's going to be part of a handmade memorial journal (Peter Steele--Type 0 Negative).

I've also listed some de-stash items and artwork in my Ebay store.  Be sure to check it out.  The link is listed below.

Stopping by the Store for bananas

I had to go out and mail an order today and stopped by the store to pick up some bananas
Walmart is now limiting milk purchases among other items.

Yesterday, there weren't any notices on the shelves in my local Save-A-Lot--just empty spaces.  Today, my local Save-A-Lot had these posted around the store.

This is becoming the new norm here in central FL.

Update---New listing on ebay

Well-this year has definitely started off cray cray.  The day job is still that way, with the hope of it settling into normalcy no where in the near future.  The health situation in the US is presenting lots of new challenges.  In my area, two of the grocery stores I frequent are experiencing empty shelves and delays in restocking.  I haven't experienced anything like this even when preparing for a hurricane here in Florida or a major snowstorm in North Carolina.  Definitely interesting times.

Even the bread was gone.
I'm healthy and well, which I'm grateful for.  I'm trying to stay positive and am continuing to work on my artwork and art projects.  I have tried to order the supplies that I might need in the near future in the event of shipping delays.  I'm also working on some other projects with the hope of making announcements on those in the coming weeks.

I have just listed a painting for sale on ebay:

Starting off the New Year

The last 3 months of 2019 were cray cray with the "day" job.  Things took way more longer to accomplish due to so many variables.  My time working on my art was forced to take a back seat. Even though I worked on things, it was in small increments and I didn't make much forward progress.

One of my goals for 2020 is to dedicate time each day for art and promoting my art through all the various ways.   So to start the New Year off an a positive note.
